Sherrie Gallerie, a three dimensional space

Last month, februrary 2011 Sherrie Gallerie, located in Short North Columbus exhibited the work of the ceramist Kristen Cliffel, which was arranged in a charming manner, suited perfectly for the playful and humorous style of the artist.
It was twenty five years ago when Sherrie Riley Hawkn opened her gallery to the public.  Being a fine arts student I am intrigued by the paths within the arts world. I wondered how she selected the work in her space. How does a gallery work, how are the art works selected? Well, in the case of Sherrie Gallerie, it is a specialized gallery, which focuses on showcasing three dimensional works. Cermamic sculptures, both relief and free standing.  Yet it is not limited to a media or style, as there is lots to see within the space, but there is a common element in all works. Beyond the quality  of the craftsmanship to the constant integration of textural elements.

Who's work will be exhibited this April 1st in Sherrie Gallery.
One thing that I appreciate when visiting Sherrie Gallery is that there is more than a central focus exhibition of the month(s), but the space is shared with other artists and jewelers.

I was watching Olafur Eliasson talk about the realtion and interaction between an individual and the space that it is in, presented with support of art works as evidence. Worth watching if have a bit of free time:
